About The Loyal Order of Moose

The Loyal Order of Moose is a fraternal and service organization founded in 1888, with nearly 1 million men in roughly 2,000 Lodges, in all 50 states and four Canadian provinces, plus Great Britain and Bermuda.

Along with other units of Moose International, the Loyal Order of Moose supports the operation of Mooseheart Child City & School, a 1,000-acre community for children and teens in need, located 40 miles west of Chicago; and Moosehaven, a 63-acre retirement community for its members near Jacksonville, FL. Additionally, Moose Lodges conduct approximately $50 million worth of community service (counting monetary donations and volunteer hours worked) annually.

Additionally, the Loyal Order of Moose conducts numerous sports and recreational programs, in local Lodges and Family Centers, in the majority of 44 State and Provincial Associations, and on a fraternity-wide basis.

A special meeting has been called for the purpose of discussing funding, to include donations, fundraising activities and borrowing the funds, for the purpose of re-opening the slot machines.

 Message from our  acting Governor:

Wow! The hot summer is going fast, so here I find myself writing this message for our newsletter at the Lodge where the air is   cool and the refreshments are cold!

We have been so busy at the Lodge greeting old and new members here. We are just three months into the new enrollment year we are halfway to our suggested quota! Like I said in the last newsletter, come out and see for yourself. The Lodge’s atmosphere has changed.

The third  Saturday of each month is steak dinner at the Lodge.  The one we had in July came complete with a band, Midnite Country Express, and we had a packed house. So many people came forward and said they had a great time. That alone made the Board of Officers very proud for how this Lodge belongs to all of us.

Well down to business. The Nominating Committee has been put into place and we need to elect a governor, prelate, and 3 year trustee.  Elections for these positions will be voted on in August, so come out and vote. It is important that everyone is a part of this fraternity.

****** Special Notice******

I would like all Moose Legion members to come forward and be recognized. Our Legion has vanished and we need to rebuild this service in our Lodge. Remember we strive to be the best!

Moose Armor Day

The Lodge is doing a Moose Armor Run. Here’s how it works-

Gather up your old grass cutter, bicycle, old lawn chairs - even that old rusty car-any of those metal items littering your yard, garage or shed, and bring them to the Lodge on August 14th & 15th and put them into the special dumpster we will have on those days. Before those dates, if you can’t get them to the Lodge, just call and speak to Jack Higgins and we will dispatch one of our anxious members to come pick up your donations.  Help clean your neighborhood and community and help support your Lodge in a way that won’t cost you anything- a rewarding way to help. The money raised from your donations of scrap metal will help with the survival of the Lower Eastern Shore Moose Lodge 2431, so be proud of your donation, you deserve it!

I have started to re-stripe the lines in our parking lot. I’ll finish that soon, I promise!

Special thanks to Leonard for fixing the tile and re-installing the sink in the ladies room. Thanks to Donald LaRose for donating three new faucets for the ladies room. Thanks to William Gregory for helping me install our new flag pole that was donated to the Lodge.  Thanks to our Steak chef, Travis Parsons – the steaks were perfect!  And thanks to Jack Ford for buying the perfect steaks!

Sincerely, your Fraternal brother,

Johnny Lightning Parsons
